 Dear ETH Alum,

The ETH Alumni New England Chapter is celebrating its third anniversary. It will be a great opportunity to see again other ETH alumni living in the New England region and to make new connections.

 We are thrilled to have Dr. Felix Moesner, an alumnus of the ETH as the keynote speaker for this event.

Felix is the new Consul of swissnex Boston and will talk about Life after ETH -- Career in different cultures towards new borders. The ETH education gives a rich basis and allows intern

ational careers in academia, private and public sectors. Felix's career so far has spanned 3 continents (Europe, Japan, USA) and 3 types of organizations (academia, private sector, government). His talk will cover topics ranging from what career steps he chose after graduation to what drives his daily activities in the Swiss Knowledge Network.

Dr. Felix Moesner is the Director of swissnex Boston and the Consul of the Consulate of Switzerland. Established as the world’s first "science consulate" in 2000, swissnex Boston is part of a global network of five knowledge outposts including San Francisco (2003), Singapore (2004), China (2007) and India (2009). The mission of swissnex Boston is to promote knowledge exchanges between Switzerland and North America in higher education, technology, innovation, science and the arts.

Felix Moesner is a Master and Doctor graduate from ETH Zurich and the University of Tokyo, Asia’s leading university. As engineer and scientist, he majored in robotics, MEMS and nanotechnologies. Dr. Moesner worked in two consulting firms (IT & executive search) and two blue chip companies (high-tech & financial) at senior management level before joining the Swiss Knowledge Network.

Before accepting his position in Boston, Dr. Moesner was the head of the Science and Technology Office Tokyo at the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, promoting Swiss Science, Technology and Education in Japan and interfacing between Swiss and Japanese governments, universities, R&D institutions and companies. Together with the US Embassy, he also held the presidency of the Science and Technology Diplomatic Circle, which is comprised of 80+ diplomatic missions and affiliates such as NSF or NASA in Tokyo since 2005. Several awards and grants underline his proactive commitments.
